Extra Credit Opportunities... (Pandemic conditions permitting)
There are limited opportunities for you to earn extra credit:
1. Seminars, Lectures, & Historical Events - Occasionally I will offer extra credit for attendance at historical programs or lectures at places like UNCW or area historic sites. I will publicize these events well in advance to give you plenty of time to plan your attendance. Attendance and a one-page write up about what you saw and learned there can earn you a replacement grade for your worst non-test Power School grade.
2. The American History Timeline and World History Timeline on Facebook - I have Facebook pages called The American History Timeline and The World History Timeline, on which I post articles about American and world history from all over the internet. If you go to those pages, pick a few articles and make substantive comments about them, at the end of the semester it can earn you up to three points added to your final grade (so for instance an 87 gpa could become a 90 - the difference between a "B" and an "A"). To get to the page search for The American History Timeline on Facebook, or paste this address into your browser: https://www.facebook.com/TheAmericanHistoryTimeline/.
If you do not have a Facebook account of your own, you can use a friend or family member's account. Just make sure you type your name at the beginning of your comment so I know it is from you.
